5 REASONS YOU NEED HATS IN YOUR WARDROBE

Outfit details below!

It’s been a long time but I am back! I took a very extended break to focus on myself. I’ve learned a lot about myself in that time and learned what I need to do to create the best version of myself. One thing I did learn about myself is I prefer the East Coast over the West Coast in the USA. But that’s a story for another day. Today is all about hats (and my outfit details of course)!

I was never a hat person growing up. It wasn’t until my adulthood I realized the potential and the strategical usage of them for fashion and for waiting until it’s hair wash day. Below are 5 reasons I think any woman should have hats in her wardrobe!

1. No Time To Wash Your Hair

It goes without saying that there will be that day where you are supposed to wash your hair but life happens. An easy solution to make yourself appear presentable is to just pop a hat on your head and be on your way.

2. Hide Your Bad Hair Day

When I wake up and can’t seem to style my hair to look “right,” I just call it a day and throw on a hat. The hat 99% of the time mellows out the ‘bad’ hair and makes you look amazing (per usual)!

3. You Don’t Have To Take Off Hats at the Dinner Table

For women, hats are considered part of your outfit so you don’t have to take it off at the dinner table. Except, if said hat is for outdoor/winter wear. This is according to hat etiquette for women.

4. Hats Can Uplift Outfits

A simple basic outfit can go to fashionista outfit with the right touch. For example: A White turtleneck, mid wash blue jeans, and black booties outfit. Add a black baker boy hat and suddenly the outfit is more glam and unique.

5. For When You’re Feeling Incognito Mode

We all have those days for when nothing feels good and nothing can make us feel like we look good. Enter in hats! They save us from those moments where we feel we need to conceal a bit of ourselves to feel more comfortable. I like to call it incognito mode.

Regarding my outfit, it’s a casual look for a perfect Sunday afternoon for hanging out or running errands. The biker shorts I purchased from the Nordstrom teenager section on sale for $5 (originally $12)! Currently they are sold out on the Nordstrom website, but they do restock them eventually. I would highly recommend getting them because it is a great price and they are comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend them if you have a large bottom due to the fact that the fabric is thin and would probably be see-through for you. For reference, I bought a size small and I am a size US 4/6.

Oh, and in case you were all wondering: In this picture I wore a hat because of reason #2!

I love hats but I’m always worried it’s going to ruin my hair or bring attention to my protruding ears, haha. I didn’t grow up wearing hats a lot, so even if I wear a hat as apart of my outfit I usually take it off when I’m inside. I definitely prefer hats when I feel like I want to be incognito, I guess that’s why I rarely use them! Guess it’s time to be more strategic!
