THIS AND THAT – MUSINGS FROM AN ARTIST

As many of you remember, when I first launched my blog, I had a vast array of subjects of my interests while tying in fashionable looks. To be honest, I did receive negative feedback from people for doing so and being myself. And to be even more honest, I let it get to me. Which prompted me to pull certain blog posts from the public (one of them being about the topic of soulmates, other posts about etymology, etc). It was people close to me who said to my face that they would never support me and my blog because they considered it unprofessional. And, they took it a step further and said they would never comment on my blog posts as they would never want their name associated with my blog. I’m not going to lie, I felt very hurt. We humans don’t like to feel rejected, we fear it in fact. But we must not let what other people think of us change the way we think of ourselves.

That is why sometimes we have to go back to the basics to remember who you are. After many conversations in the past week from friends, they have reminded me to stick to my roots. I do want to spotlight that these friends were all men. I bring this up specifically because of the Yin-yang concepts of masculinity and femininity. Masculine and feminine energies are a part of all life. For those who don’t know: Yin = feminine life force of receptivity, and Yang = masculine force of action (thanks Google for that information). Women and women can heal each other. Men and men can heal each other. But what many fail to realize is the power of men and women healing each other with just their energy and words. Duality can bring about powerful results. That is my theory why so many people nowadays are unhealed; there is a division among men and women. The masculine energy of healing I received from these men allowed me to awaken a force of action within to be myself. It was always there, but it was dormant. All it took was a push from my male friends, and of course the choice of mine to be vulnerable to open up and speak to them.

When I talk about anything on here or in real life with people, it is more than just a conversation. It is what inspires me to create art. Everything inspires me as an artist, even the words I am typing right now inspire me to create art. This is the dignity of being an artist. Capturing the essence of life from all corners of this reality.

For those who know me, I always tell them the concept of love/oneness is prevalent in our lives and the key to happiness. To love is to know, and to know is to love. You may think these musings are about romance, but I can assure you it is not. The problem is we often think of love when we think of romance only. Humanity has suffered because of this.

There is love in happiness.

There is love in sadness.

There is love in anger.

There is love in the right direction.

There is love in the wrong direction.

Love is the key to leading to you to where you are supposed to go. Whether you feel positive or negative thoughts, always learn from them. This is fueled by love. You must love your ups and downs in life. Embrace them. This is how you learn and grow. You must always see things through the lens of love. That is the way of the artist as many of us artists know. This is what drives our essence of creating. And this is why I say humanity has suffered, we have encased love to be perceived in our own biases. Love should not be that way. Ever.

Don’t be distracted by the wiles of humanity. I know it’s ok to be me, and I hope all of you reading this know it’s ok to be you.
