After a long hiatus on my blog, I am back! This time I wanted to talk about the color blue. While I have always liked the color blue, it was never my favorite. However, over the recent years I have found myself wearing blue very often. I feel I have under appreciated this color because aside from it being more applicable to a minimalist wardrobe, there is a lot of benefits to the color blue energetically.
The color blue energetically wards off negative energies that you may accumulate or is directed at you. Some of you may be familiar with this if you are aware of the middle eastern culture of nazar, the evil eye. The evil eye is an ideology that the eyes of someone with negative thoughts/intentions can bring bad luck/misfortune to you. This is why you will typically see some middle easterners wearing a blue eye necklace or bracelet. The color blue is also considered an honest color. This is why it is often recommended to those attending court to wear blue, or politicians when making public appearances.
What I really love about this outfit is the pop of color from the blue Maje coat. Brighter tones of color tend to tread on the line of fashion statement versus a timeless look. However, this hue of blue is the perfect tone to keep the outfit color scheme on a classic but chic aesthetic. The added touch of a Chanel CC brooch elevated the look to make it look complete as well. This is why the addition of carefully selected accessories are so crucial. They will take make a basic look into a fashionably styled look.
I also tried blue eye shadow for the first time, as seen in the first picture above. Who doesn’t love a good Dior eye shadow palette? While I love the look on other women, I felt the color was too overwhelming for my face. This obviously isn’t an issue for me, as I prefer neutral tones for eye shadow make up. It was fun to try something out of my comfort zone though!
