BAG REVIEW: LOUIS VUITTON Félicie POCHETTE BAG

It’s about time that I did a bag review on my blog! I chose this bag to be my first review because despite all the bags I own, this bag is actually the bag I used the most the past couple years.

What would a handbag collection be without Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram canvas? Monogram is not for everyone, but it definitely is not forgettable. On the Louis Vuitton website, this particular bag comes in 6 different material styles. I decided to go with the classic monogram purely because I had seen this particular bag style online so much that I fell in love with it.

It is the perfect bag to use with neutral color outfits. This is because monogram can be very overwhelming and can clash very easily with patterns and sometimes certain color schemes. I personally tend to use neutral color outfits with monogram because I like the overall look. I will sometimes add a pop of color as well. But I generally keep it to a minimum so the outfit isn’t too “busy.”

For those who want the details: The flap bag measures at 8.3 x 4.7 x 1.2 inches. It has a press-stud closure and removable chain. The outer is monogram canvas while the inside is lined with microfiber in the color fuchsia. It also comes with 2 removable parts: a zip pocket and a flap pocket with 8 card slots. These 2 pockets fit inside the sole large compartment of the bag.

Durability wise, it holds up very well to taking a beating. I can’t tell you all how many times my clumsy self has hit this bag against walls, doors, my car, and no damage!

I will admit, this is not the bag for you if you like to pack a lot of things. I purchased this bag at the beginning of 2020 and since then, I was using this bag almost everyday. From errands to casual hangouts with family and friends. When I use this bag I actually remove the 2 removable pockets it comes with and keep them at home. If I keep them in, there is no room to put anything aside from one lipstick. That is why I use my Louis Vuitton card holder instead. It leaves room for my lip liner, lipstick, and then either my phone or my car keys. This is the one big downside for me. I have to make the choice to either carry my phone or keys while I am using this bag. And, I was willing to keep making that sacrifice until the summer of 2023.

This past summer I mostly used my YSL Baby Sac de Jour as I’ve grown fond of having more space in my bag (especially to carry a snack lol). And then from fall onward I have been using my red mini rectangle classic Chanel flap bag. So while I have semi-retired this LV bag for now, maybe it may make a comeback in the days to come.

THE FINAL VERDICT: If you want a bag that doesn’t need to carry much when you’re on the go constantly and you have the wardrobe to match monogram, get this bag. If not, skip it as there are better (larger) small bag options for you.
