I decided to start making myself more aware of what I am wearing weekly, to see what ends up standing out the most to me. Just a fun little game with myself you could say. This week my favorite look ended up also being my favorite day that week as well. Why you ask? I got to eat shawarma and sushi. For those of you who don’t know what shawarma is, it is an Arab dish that originates from the Levant Arab region. Basically a meat sandwich, but so much better.
Anyways, before I make you all hungry, I’ll switch gears back into fashion. The outfit made it my favorite this week because of a couple of reasons. The first being the use of interesting lines of the neckline on the top I am wearing. I like the top because it is giving Khaite Maddy ribbed bustier top vibes, but with some design differences. And, of course without the $1300 price tag. The hemline of the Khaite version is cut like a bustier silhouette, while the top I am wearing is just a normal hemline. I have seen Shein have a variation of the Khaite top as well, but I avoid purchasing from Shein for my own reasons.
The second reason why I like this outfit is the because of how well I liked the colors burgundy and mauve going together. Together they make my outfit look so chic and elegant. And while I’m talking about this outfit I will admit to you all that I actually did not pay a lot for the clothing part of this outfit. The top I bought it for $25 dollars at H&M, the leggings I got on sale for $20 many years ago at Bebe, and the coat I bought from a Zara winter sale in 2015 for $70 dollars (I won’t buy from Zara anymore though). Further proof that anyone can look good without spending an arm and a leg on fashion.
Lastly, the white Dior bag gives a nice contrast between the rich burgundy top and mauve coat. When getting dressed, I decided I wanted to use a bag that would stand out with this outfit instead of blending in.
